Maria is mentioned briefly in a long gossip column. Apparently one Woolie Donahue’s is calling her at her residence at the Langdon on Fifth Avenue, trying to suggest perhaps that there was more to it, though Maria was still married to her first husband at the time. She is referred to as a model and tobacco heiress. The column with this particular blurb ran in a few newspapers for a couple of days at the time.
