Maria appears in a brief blurb about her playing the role of a Japanese maid alongside Alec Guinness in A Majority Of One. For some reason her name is misspelled as “Maria Tsien McLay”. The blurb was printed, with the misspelling and all, in a number of newspapers throughout the month of May, 1961.

Maria is mentioned briefly in a long gossip column. Apparently one Woolie Donahue’s is calling her at her residence at the Langdon on Fifth Avenue, trying to suggest perhaps that there was more to it, though Maria was still married to her first husband at the time. She is referred to as a model and tobacco heiress. The same article ran under a slightly modified title around this day in a number of other newspapers.
