In a small untitled news item with photo Maria is quoted as saying that bald heads are for eagles, not men.
Maria is mentioned briefly in a long gossip column. Apparently one Woolie Donahue’s is calling her at her residence at the Langdon on Fifth Avenue, trying to suggest perhaps that there was more to it, though Maria was still married to her first husband at the time. She is referred to as a model and tobacco heiress. The same article ran under a slightly modified title a day earlier in the Bangor Daily News and in the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
